Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective training programs tailored to the skill levels of varsity volleyball players, emphasizing technical skills, strategy, and team cohesion
- Lead practices and games, providing clear instructions, constructive feedback, and motivation to maximize team performance
- Foster a positive team culture focused on sportsmanship, discipline, and personal development
- Monitor player progress through assessments and adjust coaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and athletic trainers to support student-athletes’ academic and physical well-being
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during practices and competitions, including AED operation and first aid procedures
- Manage team logistics such as scheduling matches, coordinating transportation, and maintaining equipment inventories
Experience
- Proven experience in sports coaching with a focus on volleyball or similar team sports
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams or groups of children or students in a school or community setting
- Background in sports-specific training instruction, including techniques related to volleyball fundamentals and advanced tactics
- Familiarity with health club or gym environments that promote physical fitness and athletic development
- Experience working with children or students in educational or extracurricular programs
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies to foster discipline and teamwork among young athletes
- Certifications such as CPR/AED certification, first aid training, or coaching credentials are highly desirable
