Under the administrative direction of the Director of the Consumer Advocate Division, performs complex administrative/technical work associated with the general administration and office management of a small office, including but not limited to the procurement of expert witnesses and services, contract administration, purchasing, travel, fiscal, case compliance, budgetary matters, hiring and personnel matters, and compliance with all necessary and relevant record keeping requirements, personnel and legal requirements, and fiscal requirements. The person in this position will research applicable policies and procedures, review financial information and draft proposed resolutions to policies for the Director. This position also serves as the General Assistant to the Director, and has considerable latitude to vary methods, procedures and approaches to obtain the desired results. The issues dealt with are often sensitive and confidential. This position also provides additional administrative assistance and support for the office as needed, and performs other duties as required by the Director. The incumbent may be called upon to supervise professional and/or clerical staff.
Training: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience as described below may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Six years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in administrative, professional, or technical capacity in the area of assignment.
Substitution: Graduate study in an area appropriate to assignment may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
