MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Remote Maintenance Worker I
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two years of work experience in water and sewer operation and maintenance; or a related vocational certification/degree. They should be able to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively, particularly regarding all safety aspects of small water system utility operations. Must possess a thorough knowledge of utility systems and the ability to instruct utility operators. Must attend operator training opportunities and progressively increase in operator certification. Applicants must possess a current Alaska driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record for Maniilaq vehicles. The position also requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Remote Maintenance Worker II
5 years’ work experience as Remote Maintenance Worker I. Must possess active operator certifications in Water Treatment Level 2, Water Distribution Level 2, Wastewater Collection 2, and Wastewater Treatment 2.
Remote Maintenance Worker III
5 years’ work experience as Remote Maintenance Worker II. Must possess active operator certifications as detailed in Remote Maintenance Worker II. In addition, holds a current certification in backflow prevention or other appropriate advanced certification that enhances RMW service delivery.
