Part-Time Visitor Center Associate
About the Role
The Paso Robles & Templeton Chamber of Commerce is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Part-Time Visitor Center Associate to serve as a welcoming ambassador for our region. This role is often the first point of contact for visitors and locals alike, providing information, recommendations, and resources that showcase the best of Paso Robles, Templeton, and the surrounding area.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong local knowledge (or a desire to learn), and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet visitors warmly and provide exceptional customer service
- Offer recommendations for local wineries, restaurants, lodging, events, and attractions
- Distribute maps, brochures, and tourism materials
- Assist with sales of merchandise and local goods, including POS transactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Visitor Center environment
- Answer phone calls and respond to general inquiries
- Assist with inventory tracking and restocking merchandise
- Support Chamber events and tourism-related initiatives as needed
- Represent the Chamber and community professionally at all times
- Assist with basic administrative tasks when needed
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Customer service, retail, hospitality, or tourism experience preferred
- Comfortable handling sales transactions and cash management
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Enthusiasm for Paso Robles, Templeton, and the Central Coast
