Job description:
Operate a variety of equipment utilized in the construction of Stream & Wetland Restoration Projects, Mass Earth Moving and General Site Grading. This position requires you to travel and you may be away from home up to two weeks at a time. If out of town, housing is provided and per diem.
Essential Functions:
- Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in stream restoration, mass earthmoving or site preparation.
- Excavators with Hydraulic Thumbs
- Bulldozer
- Wheel Loaders
- Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Project Manager, Safety Director, or Human Resources Manager as needed.
- Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in equipment training.
- Perform routine inspection, cleaning, and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in operating heavy equipment
- Considerable knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles. Ability to drive and operate the equipment under varying working conditions.
- Working knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in heavy equipment operation.
- Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations.
- Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to work from construction specifications or project plans.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions including rain and extreme heat
- Ability to travel and work away from home Monday- Friday if needed.
Pay:
From $26.00 per hour. Based on experience
