One opening for Full-time, 1st shift CNC Process & Programming Engineer. This is a permanent, direct hire position. Starting at $28/hr. We offer competitive, higher experience-based wages for highly skilled multi-axis programmers. Standard 10 hour day shift begins at 5:30a and ends at 4:00p. 40 hour work week is Monday - Thursday. Employees MAY be on extended hours to include half or full day Fridays. In the past year, MOST Fridays have been filled voluntarily.
The CNC Process & Programming Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving CNC programs and CNC manufacturing processes for our Wood Operations.
This involves running CNC equipment primarily for first-piece validation, program prove-out, fixture testing, CNC process troubleshooting, process development, repeatable manufacturing methods and continuous process improvement. Provides technical direction to operators regarding CNC setup, program use, fixture use, and troubleshooting. This role reports to Wood Operations Manager. It also involves working from customer-supplied drawings, models, specifications, and approved designs to create reliable 3-axis CNC programs, Mastercam toolpath development and CNC fixtures. You would serve as the technical authority for 3-axis CNC programming decisions, CNC machining strategy, CNC fixture approach while reporting and working under the direction of the CAD/CAM Systems & Tooling Mgr. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years hand on experience with CNC machines (mills, lathes or routers, preferred) with deep understanding of CNC tooling, feeds and speeds, work holding, fixturing, setup methods, and machining sequence.
- 3+ years of experience in CAD/CAM software, CNC programming, or tooling design.
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD/CAM software.
- Strong technical skills in CNC machining (3-axis), process engineering, and quality inspection processes (e.g., PPAP, ISO 9001).
- Experience analyzing technical drawings, models, specifications, tolerances and revision-controlled files as well as managing complex technical issues, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally, and interact with external customers.
Preferred Skills
- Specialized certification, apprenticeship completion or college degree from a manufacturing technology, industrial technology, engineering or closely related program.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or process optimization.
- Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., CIMCO).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to production schedules in a fast-paced environment.
