Discovery Academy is expanding by opening their DeLand Campus starting August 2022. Since 1986 Discovery Academy has served Kindergarten through 8th grade students with an involved hands on curriculum, small class sizes, and a caring team that works together.

Positions: Middle School English & Social StudiesTeacher (6th - 8th grade)
We are searching for a dedicated and experienced math, english, and science teachers to join our team. As a math, english, and science teacher, you will be required to deliver lessons that develop students' theoretical and applied math, english, and science skills from our curriculum outline. You will also be responsible for assigning/grading assignments and quizzes, and documenting students' progress.
To be successful as a math, english, and science teacher, you should possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices. Our ideal candidate will be able to create a stimulating learning environment that is sensitive to students' needs.
Math Teacher Responsibilities:
- Presenting lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of math, english, and science concepts.
- Preparing and distributing learning material such as notes, assignments, and quizzes.
- Sourcing the resources and supplies needed for lessons.
- Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning.
- Grading assignments and quizzes in a timely manner.
- Documenting and reporting on students' progress.
- Attending meetings with parents and staff.
Math Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- An understanding of best practices in teaching.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized, flexible disposition.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
