The Millwright-Mechanic reports directly to the Foreman and works on either a single mechanical project or multiple smaller-scope mechanical projects at a single site. This position requires the ability to work independently, demonstrate self-motivation, and execute work in accordance with applicable design specifications and code requirements. The Millwright-Mechanic is responsible for performing all mechanical and pipefitting duties safely within an industrial environment and must be able to read and interpret construction and fabrication drawings, specifications, and bid package information.
- Rig, position, and align pumps and motors.
- Install, remove, and replace valves.
- Install tubing and threaded piping systems.
- Move, rig, install, and remove large mechanical components and subsystems using mechanical lifting and rigging equipment.
- Operate various types of process equipment and machinery to meet project and design requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge of valves, fittings, filters, and related piping system components.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Follow all applicable design requirements, codes, and safety standards while performing work.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be capable of operating:
- Company trucks (DOT compliant).
- Forklifts.
- High-reach equipment up to 45 feet.
- Elevated work platforms, including:
- Scaffolding
- High-reach equipment
- Elevated pipe racks
Must be able to safely operate and use:
- Pipe threading machines
- Cutting and burning torches
- Grinders
- Port-a-Band saws
- Chain falls
- Standard hand tools
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain housekeeping standards at job sites, including trailers, trucks, laydown areas, and waste storage areas, in accordance with Marshall and/or customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge, skills, and competencies.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Service Representative or Foreman.
