Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Roof Repair / Shingle Repair Technician specializing in tuckpointing and metal bending. This role involves performing high-quality roofing repairs, shingle replacements, and related restoration work on various residential and commercial structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, roofing, and fabrication, with the ability to work safely and efficiently on-site. Duties
- Inspect roofs to identify damage or areas requiring repair, including shingles, flashing, and underlying structures
- Perform tuckpointing to restore mortar joints on chimneys or brickwork as needed
- Fabricate and bend metal components for flashing, edging, or reinforcement using hand tools and power tools
- Replace damaged shingles and install new roofing materials according to specifications
- Utilize blueprint reading and schematics to accurately execute repair plans
- Operate various hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal sheets, or masonry components
- Assist with masonry work including stucco application or concrete forming when required
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in roofing, construction, or related trades such as carpentry, masonry, or restoration
- Familiarity with construction estimating blueprint reading, schematics, and fabrication techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and metal bending techniques
- Knowledge of roofing systems, tuckpointing methods, metal stud framing, plumbing, tile laying, and other construction skills is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights on rooftops or scaffolding
- Strong understanding of safety procedures relevant to construction sites and roofing operations
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in repair execution
- Prior experience working with schematics or blueprints for precise project implementation
