Position Overview
The Associate Account Executive (AAE) supports the sales team in analyzing and converting inbound lead opportunities to achieve sales objectives. This role requires strong communication skills to engage with potential customers and close collaboration with senior sales staff and the underwriting team to facilitate the referral and quoting process for the company’s proprietary products. The AAE assists in assessing opportunities and sourcing alternative solutions under the guidance of senior account executives. Success in this role is measured by pipeline activity, sales support efficiency, and progress toward individual development milestones.
Job Duties
- Sales Funnel Management
- Support the sales funnel by engaging with prospects through warm calls and clear communication to guide them toward policy decisions.
- Partner with senior sales staff to ensure industry-specific needs are met and appropriate coverages are recommended.
- Maintain accurate account and opportunity records while tracking key performance metrics under supervision.
- Quoting & Submissions
- Assist in the submission process for new business, including gathering underwriting information and managing quotes across carrier-direct portals.
- Provide producer support by compiling comparison summaries and following up on carrier inquiries, subjectivities, and outstanding quotes.
- Support account growth by assisting in quoting proprietary digital products and identifying ancillary coverage opportunities.
- Policy Servicing & Administrative Support
- Deliver end-to-end administrative support by facilitating policy updates, admin/platform support, certificates, endorsements, assembling client binders, and maintaining high-precision Salesforce documentation.
- Manage electronic records and system files to ensure seamless workflow accuracy and compliance under supervision.
- Team & Carrier Coordination
- Facilitate communication between producers and carrier representatives to streamline communication.
- Assist the onboarding of new accounts and monitor carrier portals for time-sensitive tasks.
- Assist the team with special projects, reporting, and operational support to optimize workflows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ year of experience working in commercial insurance required
- 1+ year of previous experience in an insurance sales/customer service role required
- Active P&C insurance licensure required
- Knowledge of the sales process from initiation to close
- In-depth understanding of company services and its position in the industry
- Demonstrated potential to contribute to expanding the company with new sales, clients, and territories
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers, which includes making cold calls and speaking with new people
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and CRM/Salesforce experience preferred
