Position Summary:
This position is responsible for monitoring and managing the daily living functions in the care of participants as a professional member of the team.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Actively engage with participants through conversation and modeling of appropriate behaviors
- Assist participants in identifying problems related to daily living in the home setting and assist with methods of coping with or solving these problems
- Assist participants with their children and redirect them when necessary
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Enforce rules and regulations, reinforce appropriate behavior, and address inappropriate behavior via learning opportunities
- Supervise participants, chores, duties and daily schedules. Document completion of chores. Assist and model for participants how to complete tasks, when needed.
- Appraise, store and/or distribute perishable/non-perishable donations received
- Occasionally transport participants utilizing approved vehicles
- Assist in the upkeep of the facility by performing light janitorial duties as needed (i.e. removal of trash in administrative areas, vacuuming, etc.)
- Record pertinent behaviors and activities of individuals at conclusion of designated shift
- Be familiar with all available participant information including daily group living, education, social services, recreation, progress notes located in individual participant care plan
- Communicate and cooperate with team members to implement care plans
- Be aware of rules, policies, expectations and agency regulations
- Attend all meetings and in-services required by CHH
- Must remain awake throughout entire shift
- Perform building checks and ensure all doors are armed and windows are locked
- Respond appropriately to safety hazards and other emergency situations. If necessary, notify 911 and EMS
- Provide on call coverage and cover shifts when necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must pass background checks to include:
- DHHS Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry
- State Patrol Central Registry of Sex Offenders
- Criminal records check
- Must possess an acceptable driving record and current driver’s license
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma informed care preferred
- Must present as a constant professional role model to the participants and staff in actions, language, dress and general attitude
- Must have understanding, patience, empathy kindness and a concern for participants
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
