DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)
To include: Respite/Personal Care/Companion/Child Habilitation/Adult Day/Community Supports
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have completed the minimum of a high school diploma or GED, unless otherwise approved by the Executive Director.
The Arc of Natrona County Direct Care providers are hired and supervised by the Service Coordinator and the Executive Director of The Arc of Natrona County.
1. Duties
a. To follow, at all times, The Arc of Natrona County’s policies and procedures
b. To follow, at all times, individual’s Plans of Care, including, but not limited to: level of supervision, medication assistance, rights and restrictions, behavior protocols, PRN protocols, and seizure protocols
c. To complete all necessary documentation at the time of service, including but not limited to: Waiver billing (including data on formal and informal goals if required by the service), provider time sheets, monthly drill reports, mileage reimbursement, Medication Assistant Records, Incident Reports, and Seizure Reports
d. Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual(s) served in their care, including, but not limited to, preparing and serving meals and snacks, grooming and bathing, medication assistance, observing environment rules and making sure the individual does the same
e. Planning and carrying out activities that will be fun and may be educational for the individual and/or activities that provide opportunities for informal and formal training objectives to be completed
f. Pre-service visits with the families when necessary. Completing all person served specific training before working with the individual. This also includes asking any and all questions pertaining to the care of the individual before the time of service arises
g. Treat all individuals with dignity and respect, to cooperate and communicate with parents and staff and to respect the confidentiality of the individual served, their families, and the agency
h. Promote independence and freedom of choice with the individual served
i. Fulfill all training requirements and all yearly continuing education requirements. To become familiar with, and follow all rules and regulations of The Arc of Natrona County
j. Update the Service Coordinator of all changes in work availability, phone numbers and addresses
k. Bring the Service Coordinator and/or Executive Director items to keep your file up to date, i.e. First Aid/CPR, driver’s license, car insurance, etc.
l. Attend all staff trainings so as to become a valuable and informed member of the staff
m. Represent the agency in a professional manner at all times

Base Pay: From $11.50 per hour
