Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Activities Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our long-term care facility, assisted living community, or nursing home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of aging issues and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
Duties
- Assist with coordinating events, outings, and recreational activities tailored to the interests of residents.
- Collaborate with staff members to ensure activities are integrated into the overall care plan for each resident.
- Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and evaluate their effectiveness in enhancing resident engagement.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and community partners to enhance program offerings.
Qualifications
- Experience in long-term care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes is preferred.
- Strong skills in schedule management to effectively coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling and the ability to address the unique needs of elderly individuals.
- Excellent event planning skills with a creative approach to engaging residents.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and families while demonstrating compassion and understanding.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in program development and implementation.
