American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Telemetry (7B) Night Shift position in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Medical/Medical-Telemetry unit (7B) in an acute care hospital setting
-
32-bed unit serving medical and med-tele patients, including those with developmental delays
-
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Patient ratios vary: 1:5–1:6 on days, 1:6–1:7 on nights
-
Equipment includes telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, and tube feeding pumps
-
EMR: Epic
-
13-week assignment
-
Rotational floating required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Weekends required as determined by facility

Active RN license in Missouri or eligibility for MO licensure (MO or compact license) required at time of consideration

Current BLS certification from AHA required
-
NIHSS certification required prior to start (may be considered without it if obtained before start date)

Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient telemetry experience required

Experience and competence in drug titration required
-
Valid U.S. Social Security Number required

No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
-
Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift; significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning of patients with assistance
-
Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs; kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed
-
Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
-
Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
-
Night shift orientation is conducted on day shift; full availability is required for the entire orientation week
-
RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week of the assignment
-
Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
-
Black scrubs are required; no other scrub colors are acceptable
-
Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
-
The facility is a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and a Level 2 Stroke Center
-
Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced local bill rate
-
Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or reassignment outside the 50-mile radius is required
-
Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
