Electromechanical Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA
We are seeking an experienced Electromechanical Engineer II to support the design, development, and testing of high-speed induction and permanent magnet electric motors used in advanced fans, pumps, and compressors. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining analytical design work with hands-on testing and product development in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
Motor Design & Development
Design and develop induction and permanent magnet electric motors for high-performance applications.
Support motor sizing, component selection, and engineering calculations.
Create detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
Develop motor performance specifications and validation test plans.
Engineering Analysis
Perform electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analysis using FEA and CFD simulation tools.
Evaluate motor efficiency, torque, speed, vibration, and thermal performance.
Optimize motor designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Testing & Validation
Conduct motor performance testing, including efficiency, speed, torque, vibration, thermal, and noise testing.
Perform motor teardowns and analyze hardware performance.
Troubleshoot design, assembly, and production issues.
Support prototype development and product validation activities.
Manufacturing Support
Partner with manufacturing teams to improve product quality and manufacturability.
Assist with production, assembly, repair, and testing of development hardware.
Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
Documentation & Collaboration
Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, and design presentations.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customer teams throughout product development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
3–5 years of experience in electric motor design and development
Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory and motor design principles
Experience with FEA and CFD simulation tools
Proficiency with SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor
Hands-on experience performing motor teardown, testing, and troubleshooting
Understanding of:
Winding techniques
Lamination stacks
Permanent magnets
Insulation systems
Motor manufacturing processes
Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings using ASME Y14.5
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting military or aerospace products
Knowledge of military qualification and environmental testing standards
General machine shop experience
Experience supporting manufacturing and production engineering
Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
