Position Summary
The Security Officer at 1400 The Willow Condominiums is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and professional residential environment for residents, guests, vendors, and visitors. This position serves as the primary point of contact for building access and visitor management while helping ensure that established building policies and procedures are followed.
Key responsibilities include welcoming and signing in visitors, monitoring building access, maintaining visitor logs, handling guest room reservations and related records, observing and reporting unusual activity, and assisting residents and management with routine security-related matters. This role is an important part of the resident experience and contributes to the overall safety, security, and smooth operation of the property.
Staffing and Schedule
1400 The Willow Condominiums is staffed 8 hours a day during the week, and 12 hours a day during the weekends with one attendant assigned per 8-hour or 12 hour shift.
Standard shifts include:
- 3:00pm - 11:00pm - M-F
- 7:00pm - 7:00am - Weekends
Schedules may vary based on operational needs.
Compensation and Benefits
This position pays $18.00 per hour Monday - Friday, $20 per hour on Weekends
At this time, this role does not include health insurance, retirement benefits, or other fringe benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and acknowledge residents, guests, vendors, and contractors in a friendly, professional, and respectful manner.
- Monitor building access and verify all visitors through established sign-in procedures.
- Maintain accurate visitor logs and records throughout each shift.
- Manage guest room reservations, including scheduling, recordkeeping, key distribution, and ensuring compliance with building policies.
- Monitor security cameras, building access systems, and common areas to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Conduct routine patrols of the building, garage, and common areas as directed by management.
- Observe, document, and report suspicious activity, security concerns, policy violations, accidents, or unusual incidents.
- Respond appropriately to resident concerns, disturbances, emergencies, and other situations requiring security personnel attention.
- Assist emergency responders, contractors, and management personnel when necessary.
- Monitor move-ins, move-outs, vendor activity, and freight elevator use to ensure compliance with building procedures.
- Maintain security-related records, incident reports, and shift logs accurately and professionally.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with property management regarding security concerns, maintenance issues, resident concerns, or operational matters.
- Enforce building policies and procedures in a professional, courteous, and consistent manner.
- Assist residents and guests with routine information requests and general support while maintaining a security-focused presence.
- Support the overall safety, security, and day-to-day operations of the property as directed by management.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to conduct routine patrols of the building, garage, and common areas.
- Ability to climb stairs and respond promptly to incidents or resident needs throughout the property.
- Ability to operate security systems, access control systems, cameras, telephones, computers, and other office equipment.
- Ability to maintain attentiveness and situational awareness throughout the shift.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds, including guest room supplies, packages, records, or other work-related materials.
- Ability to assist with guest room setup, visitor management, and other security-related operational tasks as needed.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when monitoring entrances, assisting visitors, or responding to building-related incidents.
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations, including evacuations, medical emergencies, security incidents, and severe weather events.

Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and respectful working environment at all times. Personal phone and laptop use may be permitted only when it does not interfere with assigned duties, resident service, safety, or overall shift responsibilities.
Dress Code
Employees must report to work in clean, professional, and property-appropriate attire at all times while on duty.
Required attire includes:
- Assigned 1400 The Willow Condominiums polo shirt
- Khaki or black pants
- Belt
- Closed-toe shoes in good condition
The following are not permitted while on duty:
- Jeans of any kind
- Hats or caps, unless specifically approved by management for outdoor work or weather conditions
- Hooded sweatshirts (hoodies)
- Clothing with logos, graphics, slogans, or branding other than approved company-issued apparel
- Torn, excessively worn, or otherwise unprofessional clothing
