We are seeking a skilled Pizza Cook/Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing and cooking pizzas, with a preference for those familiar with high-heat ovens such as coal-fired or wood-fired systems. This role involves hands-on pizza production in a fast-paced environment, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to food safety standards. For highly capable individuals, there is significant growth potential, including the opportunity to lead the pizza station, manage inventory, and eventually run your own kitchen division if performance excels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas, including specialties like Pierogi Pizza, Veggie Pizza, Banana Pepper Parmesan Pizza, and custom builds, using our coal-fired oven for authentic flavor and crispiness.
- Stretch dough, apply toppings, and bake pizzas to order, maintaining optimal oven temperatures (typically 700–900°F in high-heat systems).
- Monitor and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness, including sauces, cheeses, meats, vegetables, and specialty items.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to manage prep work, such as dough proofing, sauce preparation, and station setup.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all sanitation and safety protocols (e.g., HACCP guidelines).
- Assist with other line cook duties as needed, including appetizers, entrees, and brunch items.
- Innovate on menu items, suggesting new pizza variations based on seasonal ingredients or customer feedback.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a pizza cook or chef, with strong knowledge of dough handling, topping distribution, and baking techniques.
- Familiarity with high-heat pizza ovens; preference for wood-fired or coal-fired experience to handle our specialized equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen, managing multiple orders during peak hours.
- Basic knife skills, portion control, and understanding of flavor profiles (e.g., balancing acidity in sauces with cheese melt).
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot environment.
- Food handler’s certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Team player with a positive attitude and flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in a pizzeria or similar setting with wood-fired pizzas.
- Culinary training or certification is a plus.
- Leadership potential: If you demonstrate exceptional skills, reliability, and initiative, you could advance to overseeing the pizza division, including menu development, staff training, and operational management of your own kitchen section.

- Flexible scheduling (daylight and evening shifts available).
