Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Lead Teacher for our 3-4 year old classroom to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a Preschool Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, managing daily classroom activities, and supporting the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of preschool children. Your role is vital in creating a positive learning atmosphere where children feel safe, valued, and excited to explore new ideas. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and physical education.
- Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and social-emotional development.
- Implement curriculum development strategies tailored to the individual needs of children, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Monitor and assess each child's progress through observations, standardized testing when appropriate, and documentation to inform instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with families and colleagues to support child welfare and ensure consistent communication regarding developmental milestones and behavioral concerns.
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently.
- Manage classroom logistics effectively, including scheduling activities, organizing materials, and maintaining a clean, organized learning space.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom management experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development.
- Demonstrated ability to plan lessons that foster physical activity, cognitive growth, social skills, and emotional regulation.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields; additional qualifications in special education or child welfare are advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
Requirments
- Must meet Kansas Department of Health and Environment Lead Teacher requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have, or willing to obtain Pediatric CPR and First-Aid Certification
