Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love for education in a vibrant classroom environment. As the leader of our early childhood education team, you will design engaging lesson plans, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and ensure a nurturing space where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your expertise will guide the classroom toward excellence, supporting each child's unique growth journey while maintaining compliance with early childhood education standards. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Lead classroom activities that promote childhood development, behavior management, and early intervention strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality instructional delivery and classroom management.
- Foster a positive learning environment by utilizing classroom management techniques and promoting respectful interactions among children.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through observations, standardized testing, and formative evaluations; adapt lessons accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress, behavioral concerns, and developmental milestones effectively.
- Ensure compliance with childcare licensing regulations, safety protocols, and best practices in toddler care and preschool education.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and early intervention techniques.
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; private school experience is a plus.
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to handle behavioral challenges constructively.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures, lesson planning tools, and tutoring strategies for young learners.
- Effective communication skills to engage with children, parents & staff.
- Ability to incorporate diverse teaching methods.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Experience:
- Preschool: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- Child Development Associate Certification (Required)
- DCF 40 hours, VPK instructor emergent literacy course (Required)
