Job Summary
The facility is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the Surgery Department for a 13-week contract assignment. The Surgical Technologist will assist surgical teams by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile fields, and providing support during surgical procedures. Candidates must have recent specialty experience and be comfortable working varied schedules, including on-call responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environments for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons, nurses, and other surgical team members during operations.
- Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment while maintaining sterile technique.
- Perform surgical counts according to hospital policies and safety standards.
- Anticipate surgical team needs and provide appropriate instruments and supplies.
- Assist with room turnover and ensure proper setup before and after procedures.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards.
- Participate in scheduled on-call coverage as required.
- Adapt to changing surgical schedules and departmental needs.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience within the specialty.
- Prior travel experience required.
- Must hold an active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred: Surgical Technologist certification through:
- National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA/ NBSTSA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and operating room protocols.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Pay: $1,400.00 - $1,600.00 per week
Experience:
- Surgical Technologist: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Required)
- NBSTA or NCCT (Preferred)
