We are currently looking for a Plant Transfer Driver / Nursery Laborer to transport plants between our growing locations while assisting with nursery operations.
Position Summary
This position plays an important role in keeping our growing operations running efficiently by safely transporting plant material between nursery sites and assisting with loading, unloading, and general nursery work. Every day is different, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and staying physically active.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport plants and nursery materials between Belmont Nursery growing sites using company vehicles.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Pick, stage, and prepare plant orders for transfer and customer delivery.
- Inspect loads to ensure plants are secure and protected during transport.
- Help maintain plant quality by identifying and communicating concerns such as insect activity, damaged plants, or environmental stress.
- Assist with general nursery operations, including moving, spacing, watering, and caring for trees, shrubs, and perennial flowers.
- Help maintain clean, organized nursery yards, loading areas, and facilities.
- Follow all company safety procedures and safe driving practices.
- Work cooperatively with production, shipping, and nursery staff to meet daily priorities.
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver License with a clean driving record.
- Previous forklift experience or the ability to become forklift certified.
- Ability to repeatedly lift 25–50 pounds.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, sun, cold, and rain.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule with occasional late afternoons, evenings, and weekends during busy seasons.
- Available to begin work at 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. and work a flexible schedule that may occasionally include weekends during busy seasons.
- Spanish-speaking ability and basic computer skills are a plus, but not required.

Pay: $16.90 - $18.00 per hour
