Member Duties : The VISTA will contribute to efforts to develop and strengthen The Chicago School’s NourishNet program, addressing student food insecurity. The VISTA will compile local and national basic needs resources with support from university staff, and will enhance the student website to make these supports more visible across campuses. The VISTA will conduct a comprehensive basic-needs assessment to better understand the scope of food insecurity among students and identify evidence-based interventions and local resources. The VISTA will build strategic partnerships with community organizations, food banks, or nonprofits to increase access to food resources for Chicago School students. For holistic development, the role also includes assisting with program evaluation to ensure long-term program sustainability. Through these efforts over time, the VISTA will help establish a robust, university-wide system that reduces food insecurity, alleviates student stress, and promotes academic success.
