Assistant Director of Nursing

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team at Cornerstone of Fresh Meadows, a private, CARF-accredited chemical dependency and rehabilitation treatment facility located in Queens, New York. As a vital member of our nursing staff, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest quality patient-centered care and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administrative and Clinical Responsibilities: Oversee all nursing units within the facility, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional patient care.
- Leadership and Development: Lead and develop a diverse nursing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for nursing and substance use treatment, maintaining high standards of quality care.
- Supervision and Coordination: Supervise and coordinate nursing staff, ensuring seamless care delivery and patient satisfaction.
- Client Care: Respond to client crises, coordinate interventions, and maintain open communication with clients and staff.
- HR Support: Assist in interviewing, training, and mentoring nursing staff, promoting staff development and retention.
- Nursing Treatment Plans: Review and approve nursing treatment plans and progress notes, ensuring patient-centered care.
- Scheduling and Communication: Compose monthly nursing staff schedules and maintain interdepartmental communication.
- Staff Nurse Duties: Perform staff nurse duties as necessary, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Meetings and Reporting: Attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, providing updates and insights to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Must have five years of medical nursing experience and a minimum of three years as a supervisor. Mental Health or Substance Abuse Facility experience is preferred.
- Licensure and Certification: Licensed by the State of New York as a Registered Nurse, with CPR/BLS certification.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in computer systems and software, with ability to learn new systems quickly.
