Display excellent communication and customer service skills with patients, nursing staff, visitors, and team members.
Deliver the correct meal tray to the correct patient using proper customer service techniques.
Support patient nutritional needs as an integral part of the Orlando Health care team.
Arrange trays on delivery carts and log delivery times accurately.
Track tray locations and ensure timely delivery according to required standards.
Collect payment for guest trays and log transactions with the diet office.
Retrieve soiled trays and maintain clean, organized work areas.
Coordinate tray delivery with the expeditor and diet office when needed.
Assist with tray expediting, checking trays for accuracy and completeness.
Monitor diet prescriptions, diet order changes, nourishment orders, late trays, and quality standards.
Accurately take and check patient menus according to physician diet orders.
Follow food allergy, intolerance, and preference guidelines; modify diets with support from the Diet Office System.
Model essential service behaviors—communicating openly, compassionately, and professionally at all times.
Interact appropriately with a culturally diverse population.
Follow chain of command for departmental concerns.
Maintain punctual attendance aligned with Orlando Health policies and federal standards.
Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, and Performance Improvement activities.
Work consistently to exceed patient satisfaction goals by reporting concerns and suggesting creative solutions.
Protect patient confidentiality and refer concerns to Food & Nutrition or Clinical Nutrition leadership as needed.
Prepare and maintain workstations for meal service.
Complete all duties of assigned workstations and provide accurate documentation.
Assist with training new team members in tray passing duties.
Support special projects within the Food & Nutrition Department.
Embrace flexibility, rotating shifts, cross-training, and continuous change.
Follow HACCP and sanitation requirements, as well as universal precautions.
