Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry and be comfortable working on various types of projects, including residential and commercial, working with various metals, including galvanized steel, aluminum and iron. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Hourly pay commensurate with experience. Work is usually performed in a shop, but occasionally requires traveling to job sites.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete installation tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment on construction sites.
Requirements, Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- 2+ years MIG & TIG welding experience preferred
- Metal fabrication
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools (plasma cutters, grinders, etc.)
- Mechanical ability with precision
- Good close-up vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Attention to detail; Precise eye-hand coordination; Steady hand, and finger dexterity for detailed work
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 80 lbs. and work in year-round weather conditions
- Ability to stand for long periods and endurance to withstand vibration from tools
- Valid driver’s license
- OSHA card, Hot Works certificate and DOT license are a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and project plans
- Welding certification a plus
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be able to take orders from direct supervisors. Show up on time and be ready to work.
- Follow all safety procedures, on and off Hastie Fence property and be aware of the safety of your surrounding co-workers.
- Possess the ability to work in fast paced, hands-on, detailed-oriented environment and project a professional image.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB
Operation of hand tools, power tools and other equipment required in the normal performance of duties. Ability to endure heat, cold, noise and fumes. Tolerance of all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.). Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
