Position Summary
The Lighting Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and retrofit of commercial and industrial lighting systems. This role requires safely performing electrical and lighting work while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain interior and exterior commercial lighting systems.
- Replace lamps, ballasts, LED drivers, fixtures, and lighting controls.
- Perform LED retrofit installations.
- Troubleshoot electrical and lighting issues using diagnostic tools.
- Install and program occupancy sensors, photocells, timers, and lighting controls as required.
- Operate bucket trucks, boom lifts, ladders, and other equipment safely.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and site plans.
- Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and photos through company software.
- Maintain inventory of tools, materials, and equipment assigned to company vehicles.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and dispatch regarding job status.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, local electrical codes, and company safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Participate in after-hours emergency service calls and travel as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of commercial lighting or electrical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial electrical systems and lighting controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and lighting equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening if required.
- Electrical license or certifications are a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 15 feet or more.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to operate aerial lifts, bucket trucks, and other equipment safely.
Work Environment
- Commercial and industrial job sites.
- Frequent travel to customer locations.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Overtime, weekends, and emergency service work may be required based on business needs.
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Aerial Lift Certification
- Forklift Certification
- First Aid/CPR
- Electrical Apprenticeship or Journeyman License (preferred)

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
