Property ManagerPosition Summary
Eastern Connecticut Housing Opportunities (ECHO) is seeking an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of multiple residential communities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and administrative skills, with the ability to effectively manage leasing, resident relations, and regulatory compliance.
Experience in affordable housing is required. This full-time position reports directly to the Director of Property Management and plays a critical role in maintaining high occupancy levels, resident satisfaction, and operational excellence across the portfolio.
Essential ResponsibilitiesProperty Operations & Leasing
- Oversee all leasing activities, waitlist management, applicant screening, move-ins, lease renewals, and resident retention initiatives.
- Monitor occupancy trends and implement strategies to achieve and maintain occupancy goals.
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure communities are maintained to company standards.
Resident Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for residents and prospective residents.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
- Prepare and issue notices, lease violations, and other resident communications as needed.
- Foster positive resident relationships and a high level of customer service.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing, ADA, HUD, LIHTC, FCRA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate resident files, certifications, and property records.
- Collaborate with compliance staff, ownership, and external partners to ensure regulatory compliance and successful property performance.
- Support administrative and operational functions across multiple properties.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum of five (5) years of property management experience.
- Possession of at least one affordable housing certification, including COS, TCS, EIV, or equivalent.
- Proficiency with property management software such as Yardi, AppFolio, RealPage, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between properties as needed.
Preferred
- Experience managing affordable housing communities.
- Working knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, and other affordable housing programs.
- Additional affordable housing certifications are a plus.
Work Environment
- Combination of office-based and field-based work.
- Regular travel between assigned properties.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
