PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Talent Search Tutor is responsible for implementing and supervising activities within a specific area following all licensing requirements.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Provides academic tutoring in Rigorous Secondary School Courses to assigned Project Participants

Documents all contacts with Project Participants Tutoring Logs and turns them into the Project Advisors

Adheres to agency and Project policies and procedures

Complies with grant and federal regulations

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of college Sophomore classification; higher classification preferred
-
Ability to demonstrate a 3.0 grade point average or higher in subject area of competency (math, science, English, composition, foreign language, etc.) levels of the Rigorous Secondary School Courses

Ability to effectively tutor students and track academic progress as indicated on their Individual Academic Plans

Ability to document all contacts with assigned Project Participants

Knowledge of barriers to postsecondary education faced by low income and potential first generation college youth in the target area
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment

Must be able to lift 20 pounds

Must be able to remain alert and energetic for 8 hours or more

Must be able to maneuver around an office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Continuous operation of computer and all other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and printer
