Job Summary
This 1099 independent contractor role offers part-time, flexible hours serving the bi-state Kansas City metropolitan area (MO/KS). This is an ARMED position. It requires highly qualified personnel with prior military or law enforcement backgrounds or a KCMO/KCKS armed guard card. Must have your own firearm and holster.
Responsibilities
- Asset Protection: Safeguard designated spaces, properties, and internal assets.
- Crime Deterrence: Maintain a highly visible, authoritative physical presence to discourage illegal activity.
- Active Patrolling: Conduct regular perimeter and ground checks while securing entry points like doors and windows.
- Threat Mitigation: Stay alert for suspicious behavior, assess dangerous situations, and execute safe, effective responses.
- Emergency Response: Activate alarms and coordinate with external emergency services (police, fire, and medical teams) when necessary.
- Incident Documentation: Write and maintain detailed reports tracking property damage, theft, or unusual occurrences
Qualifications-
Required
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields
- KCMO or KCKS armed guard card
- Own a firearm and holster
- Valid drivers license and reliable mode of transportation
- Ability to pass a background check
Preferred
- Knowledge of surveillance systems
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while responding effectively to emergencies or disturbances.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals.
- Basic understanding of security procedures including loss prevention and law enforcement protocols.
- Must be physically capable of standing, walking, or patrolling for extended periods.
