Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles. We specialize in Yard spotters with 6.7 Cummins and Allison Transmission. We are based out of Twin City Ga but this is a mobile Tech position and would be working in the Savannah area mostly. Truck is provided. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy machinery, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse equipment including farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle fleets, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques.
- Operate and repair heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery.
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment repair.
- Dealership experience preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
- Experience with heavy machinery operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance devices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
