A Day in the Life
No two shifts are exactly alike.
As a Resident Monitor, you'll serve as the eyes and ears of the facility while helping maintain a safe, structured, and professional environment.
Your Responsibilities
Maintain safety, security, and supervision of residents in a work release setting
Conduct resident counts, inspections, and searches to prevent contraband and ensure compliance
Monitor daily movement, work schedules, meals, recreation, and visitation
Complete incident reports, logs, and documentation within the resident management system
Process resident intakes and maintain accurate records
Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and behavioral concerns
Enforce facility rules, procedures, and emergency protocols
Identify and report safety, medical, or behavioral issues
Participate in ongoing training and team meetings
Help create a culture of accountability, respect, and professionalism

Required Qualifications
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Other Job Requirements:
Valid Florida Driver's License
Ability to pass background screening requirements
Ability to meet Florida Department of Corrections standards
Willingness to work with justice-involved individuals
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in corrections, criminal justice, behavioral health, security, or reentry services
Experience working with justice-involved populations
College coursework in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
Schedule12-Hour Rotating Shifts
Enjoy a schedule that provides more days off each week.
- 3–4 shifts per week
- Nights, weekends, and holidays required
- Overtime opportunities available
Work Environment
Expect to:
- Walk and monitor throughout the facility
- Interact regularly with residents
- Complete computer-based documentation
- Respond to safety-sensitive situations
