Job Summary – Dining Services Associate
At Providence Living, our residents are our top priority. As part of the Dining Services team, you will deliver exceptional food and beverage service with professionalism, care, and promptness. This role is essential in creating a positive dining experience that reflects our commitment to excellence and hospitality.
You will be responsible for maintaining clean, organized service areas in full compliance with Florida health regulations, while following safety protocols at all times. A current ServSafe Food Handler Certificate is required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire). Hair restraints and slip-resistant shoes must be worn during shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Serve meals and beverages with attention to detail, timeliness, and resident needs.
Ensure accuracy in food tray setup and adherence to dietary restrictions.
Clear and sanitize dining areas promptly after meals.
Assist guests with seating preferences and special requests.
Maintain clean and orderly service stations, beverage areas, and utensils.
Support food prep for items like sandwiches, soups, and salads when needed.
Stock service stations with napkins, utensils, condiments, and beverages.
Follow daily cleaning tasks and side work assigned by management.
Ensure compliance with HACCP and ALF guidelines.
Follow all Providence Living dining steps of service and professionalism standards.
Assist in kitchen duties and sanitation when required.
Stay attentive to all guest needs and communicate any issues or emergencies to management immediately.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
2–4 years of food service or hospitality experience preferred.
Experience in upscale or gourmet dining a plus.
Strong communication skills and a positive, respectful demeanor.
Must complete required ALF online training.
CPR certification required.
ServSafe certification required within 30 days of hire.
Skills & Requirements
Ability to follow detailed instructions and serve residents with care.
Basic math and reading comprehension.
Comfortable using POS systems and reading simple documents.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on feet for extended periods.
Must be able to navigate stairs and occasionally work in fast-paced conditions.
Must maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout service areas.
Work Environment
Exposure to wet or humid conditions, kitchen equipment, and occasional temperature extremes.
Moderate noise level; must be able to focus and communicate effectively in a busy environment.
