Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or answering inquiries with clear communication and excellent phone etiquette
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, handle cash register operations, and manage cash drawer handling with basic math skills
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales
- Restock shelves efficiently by stocking merchandise, organizing displays, and ensuring product knowledge is up-to-date for effective merchandising
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment by performing regular stock checks and ensuring merchandise is properly displayed
- Assist in inventory management by counting stock, updating records, and participating in stock audits
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing questions promptly, assisting with product selection, and ensuring shoppers have a positive experience
Requirements
- Prior retail sales or grocery store experience is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is key!
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in bilingual settings if applicable
- Experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are a plus for supporting team efforts
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, lifting merchandise, and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and customer service best practices
- Familiarity with phone etiquette and professional communication standards in a retail environment
