Overview
We are looking for a dependable and hardworking individual to join our Field Maintenance Department as a Water & Wastewater Line Maintenance Technician. This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training provided. You will assist in maintaining and repairing water and wastewater lines and infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable water service to the community.
Responsibilities
· Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water lines and mains
· Operate and maintain tools and heavy equipment used in line maintenance
· Perform routine inspections and report issues
· Respond to service calls and emergencies
· Ensure work complies with safety standards and regulations
Qualifactions:
· High school diploma or GED
· Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in various conditions
· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
· Basic mechanical aptitude
· Valid driver’s license
· Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred (but not required):
· Experience in construction or utility work
· Knowledge of water systems and infrastructure
· Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces
- Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
- Frequently climb up and down ladders; crouch and bend at the knee; stoop or bend at the waist; reach arms overhead; and twist and turn at the neck and trunk
- Continually handle and grasp levers and dials; continuous leg and foot motion when using pedals
- Good hearing to detect equipment noises or alarms.
- Good vision for reading gauges, schematics, and identifying materials or warning signs.
- Ability to work shifts in demanding conditions, often outdoors in all weather (heat, cold, rain)
