American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Transplant Coordinator for a 13-week contract position requiring a DC RN license and at least 2 years of transplant specialty experience.

Hospital-based transplant coordination role

Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
-
8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week

No on-call requirements

13-week contract

Active DC RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)

Active AHA certifications required (AHA-issued only)

Minimum 2 years of experience in transplant nursing in a US hospital setting

Valid US Social Security Number required

Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the last 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Provides professional clinical care for transplant candidates, recipients, living donors, and their families across pre- and post-transplant phases

Coordinates the evaluation process for potential renal transplant recipients, including scheduling work-up appointments, reviewing lab work, and educating patients on pre-transplant requirements

Collaborates with transplant physicians and multidisciplinary teams during patient selection meetings to assess listing suitability

Conducts patient telephone triage, documents on-call discussions, and tracks changes in patient medications

Shares transplant call responsibilities with other nurse coordinators

Educates staff on the transplant process and ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and documentation requirements

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
