Position Overview
As a Host at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse, you serve as the ambassador of first and last impressions for our guests. In this role, you will welcome every guest—including high-profile diners—with warmth, elegance, and professionalism. Using OpenTable, you will manage our reservation system and coordinate table flow to ensure seamless seating that supports our service team and upholds our uncompromising standards of fine-dining excellence. Positioned at the heart of our high-volume luxury environment, you will rely on your flawless organizational skills, refined demeanor, and intuitive ability to anticipate guest needs to deliver an exceptional hospitality experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
· OpenTable Expertise: Proficiency with OpenTable for managing reservations, assigning tables, and updating guest statuses.
· Guest Messaging & Waitlists: Ability to use digital waitlists and guest text-notification tools within reservation platforms.
· Phone Systems: Ability to manage multi-line phone systems for reservations and guest inquiries.
· Basic Office Tools: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or Google Workspace for viewing daily shift sheets and guest reports.
· Elite Guest Welcoming: Greet arriving and departing guests with natural warmth, professionalism, and polished etiquette.
· Concierge Coordination: Assist guests with coat check, umbrella storage, taxi/rideshare coordination, and directions with luxury-level care.
Qualifications & Skills
- Upscale Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of host or customer service experience in a luxury environment, fine dining establishment, or upscale hotel concierge desk.
- Pristine Presentation: A highly polished, professional image with excellent verbal communication skills and a sophisticated demeanor.
- Multitasking & Poise: Proven ability to stay organized, calm, and welcoming during hectic peak dinner hours and long standby waitlists.
- Scheduling Flexibility: Full availability to work evenings, weekends, and major holidays.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk continuously for 4-6 hours per shift in professional attire.
