Compensation
$22.00–$25.00 per hour
The exact starting rate will be based on directly relevant caregiving experience, training, qualifications, assignment requirements, and other lawful business factors.
Caregiver Responsibilities
Depending on the client’s individualized care plan, responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance
- Companionship and meaningful social interaction
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Light housekeeping and laundry related to client care
- Mobility and transfer assistance
- Walking and ambulation assistance
- Medication reminders
- Repositioning and other appropriate personal-care assistance
- Accompanying clients to appointments or errands when included in the assignment
- Observing and promptly reporting changes in the client’s condition
- Accurately documenting care and services provided
- Following client care plans, company policies, and safety procedures
Specific responsibilities vary depending on the needs of each client and assignment.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have an active and current California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration
- Meet applicable California Department of Social Services background-clearance and affiliation requirements
- Meet applicable tuberculosis (TB) examination and documentation requirements
- Be able to perform the essential functions of the assigned position, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Be able to follow care instructions and communicate information necessary for safe client care
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, compassion, and respect for client privacy
- Have reliable transportation to assigned client locations
A valid driver’s license and legally required automobile insurance are required only for assignments where driving a client or otherwise operating a vehicle is an essential function of the assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous caregiving experience
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities
- Experience with personal care, dementia care, mobility assistance, transfers, or companionship
- Flexible availability, including evenings or weekends
Schedule
Available schedules will vary based on client needs and may include:
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Short shifts
- Extended shifts
- Recurring client assignments
