- Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality food production.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training new team members and providing ongoing development to enhance their culinary skills and service standards.
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations and company policies.
- Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes and quality standards.
- Manage shift schedules, coordinate staffing needs, and ensure timely service during busy hours in a quick service or casual dining environment.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, including cash handling and reconciliation.
- Contribute to budget management efforts by controlling labor costs and managing operational expenses effectively.
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to implement promotional activities and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management within a fast-paced restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient order processing and cash handling.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising staff, conducting interviews, and fostering team development.
- Deep understanding of food safety protocols, hygiene standards, and sanitation practices in the food industry.
- Ability to manage inventory control accurately while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
- Experience with food production for various service styles including casual dining, fine dining, catering or banquet settings.
