About the Role:
As an RN Circulator at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience. Working closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team, you will coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures while serving as the patient's advocate in the operating room.

Fast-paced outpatient surgical environment focused on patient safety, quality outcomes, and exceptional patient experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
-
Coordinate and oversee patient care throughout the perioperative process.

Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and documentation prior to surgical procedures.

Perform preoperative patient assessments and verify procedure information, consents, and surgical readiness.

Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile technique, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other team members to ensure efficient case flow.

Monitor and document patient status, surgical activities, and perioperative care in the electronic medical record.

Assist with patient positioning, specimen handling, and coordination of surgical supplies and equipment.

Participate in surgical time-outs and other patient safety initiatives.

Provide patient and family education related to procedures and postoperative care.

Perform other duties as assigned to support surgical services operations.
Qualifications
-
Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.

Current CPR certification required.

Previous operating room, surgical services, perioperative, or procedural nursing experience preferred.

Knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention practices, and perioperative standards of care.

Strong critical thinking, assessment, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $28.94 - $43.41 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
