About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile Diesel Equipment Technician to be a key player in our expansion into the Louisiana market. In this role, you will be instrumental in establishing our reputation for exceptional service, professionalism, and reliability. Your expertise in diagnostics and repair of heavy-duty diesel equipment will ensure our customers' equipment operates efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel equipment, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and drivetrains to maximize equipment uptime.
- Independently manage your daily workload, service priorities, and customer interactions, ensuring efficient service delivery.
- Utilize scan tools, service manuals, and hands-on expertise to accurately diagnose complex mechanical issues.
- Communicate directly with fleet managers and customers, providing clear explanations, repair recommendations, and professional service updates to foster trust and satisfaction.
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled repairs safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision, adhering to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, and inspection records.
- Operate cranes and specialized equipment as needed to complete repairs.
- Uphold best practices and service standards as the operation grows.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a diesel technician, ideally in a mobile or field service setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing issues across diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrain components.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make informed decisions in the field.
- Excellent professional communication and customer service skills.
- Strong integrity, reliability, and personal accountability.
- Ability to provide your own basic hand tools suitable for the role.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- ASE certifications or OEM training (Cummins, Detroit, Freightliner, etc.).
- Previous experience as a lead technician, senior technician, or primary field technician.
- Experience in developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage service flow independently.
- Experience representing a company directly with fleet managers or jobsite leadership.
