Overview
We are a growing small private practice location seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in the outpatient setting.
Our clinic is a clinical gym based setting geared toward functional restoration for our active geriatric population. This role is essential in helping patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions.
We also offer Supportive one-on-one outpatient orthopedic environment, and California PTA license renewal reimbursement.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises, trigger point therapy, and modalities as prescribed.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care in inpatient, outpatient, acute care, and skilled nursing facility settings.
- Participate in the development of care plans for various populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those requiring rehabilitation after surgery or injury.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as well as medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities or home health preferred; familiarity with discharge planning is a plus.
- Proficiency in providing patient care across various settings including inpatient, outpatient, acute care, and rehabilitation environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion while working with diverse patient populations.
