Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and bilingual Medical Receptionist fluent in Mandarin and English to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a solid understanding of medical office procedures. The Medical Receptionist will ensure smooth clinic operations by coordinating patient intake, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with confidentiality policies.
Responsibilities (include not limited to)
- Greet patients warmly and professionally in both Mandarin and English, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Schedule appointments accurately using EHR system.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization, and assist with billing processes including medical collection efforts.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures while maintaining precise documentation review and data entry.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Maintain organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Processing prescription refills and requests.
- Process Prior Authorizations.
- Verify insurance eligibility of patients.
- Calling to inform patients of their lab and imaging results and next steps.
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing electronic health records (EHR).
- Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, updating documentation, and ensuring accurate coding using CPT, ICD-10 codes for billing purposes.
- Room patients, take vitals, and input into EHR.
- Ensure efficient clinic operations through effective office management practices and excellent customer service skills.
- Work cohesively with team members.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role within clinics
- Fluency in Mandarin and English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with EHR systems.
- Knowledge of medical billing procedures including insurance verification and Medicare processes.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD), and documentation review protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; knowledge of medical terminology and health insurances are advantageous.
