Test lead (Java Application Testing)
Long Term Contract
Remote - may require travel occasionally for meetings in Columbus, OH.
Responsibilities
Serve as System Test Lead for major applications; define, plan, design, and execute tests; prepare and manage statistical and status reports for unit managers and higher-level managers. Research and review system design and technical documentation to develop detailed system test estimates, design, and planning documents. Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices, system test plans, system test scenarios, and manual and automated test scripts. Execute manual and automated functional, regression, and performance tests; analyze outcomes and support resolution to successful completion. Develop and execute automated test scripts. Prepare and manage system test data. Document and communicate test status and results; track, report, and validate defects; collaborate with the team on resolution. Prepare formal written test estimates. Deliver ad hoc written and oral presentations related to system testing. Communicate effectively with peers and managers. Attend project/scrum meetings and debrief management and team members on meeting content. Interact with prospective customers during product demos, evaluations, and Show & Tell sessions. Work in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Required Skills
Minimum four (4) years of experience serving as a System Test Lead for large, complex Java applications. Minimum seven (7) years of experience in test planning, test development (test cases, test scripts, test scenarios), and test execution for large, complex, multi-platform applications. Minimum six (6) years of experience using HP/Microfocus Test Tools (ALM/ALM Octane, LoadRunner, QTP/UFT) and Rational Performance Tester. Minimum four (4) years of experience using office automation and project planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Office. Minimum seven (7) years of experience using database query tools and writing SQL (e.g., Toad, AQT). Minimum seven (7) years of experience performing system testing of large, complex Java applications. Minimum one (1) year of experience in Agile methodology/testing. Minimum one (1) year of experience using JIRA. Minimum three (3) years of experience analyzing and executing batch processing jobs. Minimum one (1) year of experience testing web services using SOAP/REST or related tools. Minimum one (1) year of experience using GIT, Nexus, and Jenkins for continuous testing. Minimum one (1) year of experience in mobile testing (iOS, Android). Minimum one (1) year of experience in security testing. Experience in mobile emulator testing. Research and Innovation: Proof of Concepts.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
