POSITION SUMMARY:
The Active Aging Program Coordinator plans and coordinates programs and activities that help older adults stay active, connected, and engaged at the YMCA and in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; related education or training preferred.
- One to two years of related experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Ability to build positive relationships with older adults, volunteers, staff, and community partners.
- Basic computer skills.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Plan, coordinate, and evaluate active aging programs, activities, and special events.
- Handle program registration, communication, records, reports, supplies, and other day-to-day program needs.
- Build positive relationships with participants and create a welcoming sense of community and belonging.
- Identify participant needs and recommend new programs or improvements to existing programs.
- Monitor participation and program expenses and work toward established program goals.
- Coordinate instructors and volunteers, including scheduling, communication, and program coverage.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners.
