Violin Teacher – In-Home Private Lessons

We are currently hiring violin instructors for private in-home lessons throughout Bergen County, NJ. Reliable car is necessary for this position.

Our students range from casual hobbyists learning for fun all the way to highly motivated students preparing for major performances including our Carnegie Hall recital and special events like performing at New Jersey Devils games this fall.
What We’re Looking For:
- Reliable, punctual, and professional instructors
- Minimum 1-year commitment preferred
- Strong with beginner through intermediate students (advanced teaching ability preferred as well)
- Ability to teach foundational violin skills, posture, bow technique, note reading, rhythm, ear training, music theory, classical foundations, scales, vibrato, shifting, etc.
- Most importantly: ability to make lessons FUN and engaging
We want teachers who can make lessons feel like the student’s favorite part of their week. A great teacher can balance structure and fundamentals while also keeping students excited by incorporating songs and music students actually love while still building strong technique and musicianship.
Ideal candidates are adaptable, positive, patient, and able to connect with both children and adults. We value teachers who can make beginners feel confident while also challenging more advanced students in a supportive and motivating way.
Ability to teach piano or additional instruments is strongly preferred and will help fill your schedule faster.
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable traveling to students’ homes throughout Bergen County
- Strong communication and time management
- Background in violin performance and/or music education preferred
