This role is ideal for a senior electrical engineering leader who remains actively involved in design while managing and mentoring a technical team. The successful candidate will oversee electrical design from concept through commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with applicable industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Electrical Engineering team.
- Oversee electrical design for industrial control systems, process equipment, and material handling projects.
- Develop, review, and approve electrical drawings, schematics, panel layouts, and control system documentation using EPLAN and AutoCAD.
- Provide technical leadership on power distribution, MCCs, control panels, PLC-based systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
- Collaborate closely with project management, mechanical engineering, automation, customers, suppliers, and field teams.
- Support design reviews, component selection, vendor coordination, troubleshooting, and project execution.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, UL, IEEE, IEC, and relevant customer specifications.
- Drive engineering quality, standardisation, and continuous improvement across electrical design processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of industrial electrical design experience.
- Previous leadership experience within an electrical engineering or controls engineering environment.
- Strong proficiency with EPLAN and AutoCAD.
- Experience with industrial controls, MCCs, control panels, electrical schematics, and automation systems.
- PLC programming or PLC integration experience is preferred.
- Experience supporting industrial process equipment, bulk material handling, packaging, chemical, food, plastics, or manufacturing systems is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers, vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
