The Welcome Center Associate position is a seasonal, part-time, onsite role at the Welcome Center through September, working approximately 20 hours per week with some weekend availability required. The pay scale is $19–$23 per hour. This position supports daily Visitor Center operations, visitor engagement, retail sales, Chamber communications, and community-facing services for the Visitor Center and the Blaine Chamber of Commerce. The role helps provide a welcoming experience for visitors, supports Chamber members and community relationships, assists with events and programs, and works under the direction of the Chamber Executive Board or designated supervisor.
Responsibilities
· Support daily Chamber and Visitor Center operations, communications, customer service, and correspondence.
· Assist with retail operations, inventory, merchandising, sales tracking, deposits, invoices, and membership dues.
· Support Chamber membership outreach, onboarding, member communication, and relationship-building with the Blaine business community.
· Assist with Chamber events, meetings, networking opportunities, guest speakers, and the Annual General Meeting.
· Maintain the Chamber website, social media pages, bi-weekly newsletter, visitor information materials, and community promotional resources.
· Assist with City Visitor Center-related contract requirements, grant applications, performance tracking, reporting, and customer satisfaction metrics.
· Maintain consistent communication with the Executive Board or designated supervisor and provide requested updates, reports, or presentations.
Qualifications
· Experience supporting daily operations, volunteers, schedules, communications, and customer service functions preferred.
· Ability to represent an organization professionally with visitors, members, the business community, and the public.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to assist with programs, events, retail operations, reports, memberships, invoices, and grant-related deadlines.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to update websites, social media pages, newsletters, reports, and presentations.
· Ability to build positive relationships, support membership outreach, and promote local businesses, attractions, events, and community resources.
· Commitment to high-quality visitor service, teamwork, accountability, and a welcoming community experience.
