As a Physical Therapist at Willoughby Hills FHC, you will create a healing atmosphere that enhances the patient and family experience. You will assist in providing highly specialized treatment for bones, joints, muscles and tendons specifically relating to sports-related injuries, recovery and general body maintenance. Providing sensitivity and compassion to our patients is important in helping them regain their health and getting them back on the field, to the gym or enjoying the physical activities they love.
A caregiver in this position works 2 late days from 7:00am to 4:00pm or 10:00am to 7:00pm, Monday through Friday. An opportunity to provide coverage 2 Saturdays per year from 8:00am to 12:00pm can be provided.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Perform initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition.
- Establish, revise and evaluate a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient / family according to their capabilities and desires.
- Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
- Supervise activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.
- Use critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to work with minimal supervision.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate
- Graduate of a Physical Therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Experience in a clinical area
- Open to new grads
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.
- Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
- Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.
- Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.
- Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.
- Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.
- Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $69,600.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $106,132.50
