Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist with meal assembly according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including dishwashing duties and sanitizing workstations
- Support the culinary team with food handling, portioning, and basic cooking tasks
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed to uphold health standards and prevent cross-contamination
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supplies needed
- Help with catering events or special meal preparations as required
- Follow proper knife skills for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients efficiently and safely
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food service environment such as restaurants, catering, or dietary departments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Basic knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail in food preparation and cleanliness
- Willingness to learn new culinary techniques and kitchen processes
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration
- Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus but not mandatory
