ABC Appliance is the parent company of ABC Warehouse, Hawthorne Appliance, and Mickey Shorr. Family-owned and operated since 1963, we specialize in household appliances, mattresses, furniture, and home and car electronics. With 650+ employees, we have grown to fifty brick-and-mortar retail locations in multiple states, including several internet channels.
We are seeking professional hourly Class A CDL Drivers who want to work with a company that cares about their drivers. We have new model tractors, 24hr maintenance, and roadside assistance. We are offering a steady Full-Time position with full benefits. Our drivers enjoy being home nightly, and we don’t run on Sundays.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for safe transportation of company goods (ex: appliances, furniture, mattresses…) to and from the Warehouse to and from store locations
- Responsible for complying with truck driving rules and regulations as well as with Company policies and procedures
- Responsible for complying with all DOT federal and state regulations
- Responsible for the transport and off load of company goods to and from the HUB store locations, to supply the 3rd party home delivery service.
- Responsible for all paperwork involved in the transport of goods between the Company and the 3rd party home delivery service.
- Responsible for the return of goods from the customer delivery experience, via the 3rd party customer delivery service.
- Required to perform inspections before and after a trip
- Required to maintain ELog (equipment provided by Company)
- Required to follow accident procedures
- Maintain a positive attitude with customers and fellow employees
Required Skills/Abilities/Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations
- Knowledge of and adherence to all federal and state transportation regulations
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy cargo as needed when loading and unloading merchandise
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc)
- Experience with DispatchTrack and/or GeoTab a plus!
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experienced truck drivers with at least 5 years of experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to maintain all physical and medical requirements as required by the Department of Transportation
